Learning in Nature's Classroom

As a mother and teacher of participants in the excellent program run by Teaching Responsible Earth Education, I was pleased to see Aesha Rasheed's article on the organization ("Classroom Earth," April 17th).

I have attended all of TREE's programs, and I am thrilled to participate in director Sue Brown’s vision for high-quality education in our city.

Yes, children have great fun while learning science. I also enjoy every moment of the programs, because I know that every moment is spent helping my students understand at least a quarter of the state science standards.

This is a tremendous amount of material, thoroughly taught.

While attending, my students are in the skilled hands of the TREE instructors. I believe that every child deserves to participate in TREE’s exciting and highly effective programs.

This program is fantastic! My child has used the knowledge he gained there on other science chapters and on the LEAP for the 4th grade. -- Parent of Earthkeeprs Participant
